Mac Catalina Reinstall
Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities natarajan1,
Before we update to macOS Catalina. Backup the Mac computer with Time Machine. Check the available storage space on your Mac to ensure at least 30 GB available storage. Otherwise, you will need to remove some content from your Mac to clean up the storage space. If you don't have an idea how to clean up your Mac. Select Reinstall macOS from the utilities window in macOS Recovery, then click Continue and follow the onscreen instructions. Follow these guidelines during installation: If the installer asks to unlock your disk, enter the password you use to log in to your Mac. The key to reinstall mac OS Big Sur, Catalina or Mojave without losing data is the backup, since no one can guarantee all data will be perfectly maintained after macOS reinstallation. However, if we unfortunately lost files after macOS reinstallation, Time Machine or Cisdem Data Recovery is helpful to recover them back.
I see that your mouse and keyboard are not working on your Mac. I'd be happy to look into this with you.
If you're using a wireless mouse and keyboard, take a look at the article below that can help. If you go through the steps and the issue remains, you can try connecting a wired mouse and keyboard to see if the issue remains.
